Dela Marmy

Dela Marmy is an artist with roots in Trás-os-Montes and Beira Baixa. Her writing and composition reveal intimate and poetic songs, which match the wild singularity of her voice.

Having already performed live at Vodafone Paredes de Coura, Festival N2, Festival Inquieto, among other festivals and venues in the country, her songs have also been played on national radio stations such as Antena 3, Radar, Antena 1, TSF, SBSR.FM, Vodafone, RUM, RUC and RUA.

After releasing two EPs, which feature guest appearances by Sonic Boom and Charlie Francis, in 2014 she released her first album, entirely in Portuguese – ACASO – produced by João Correia (Tape Junk) and with influences from indie-folk, art pop and electronica. "Acaso" feat. Stone Soup, "Desejo" and "E se o céu se sair" are some of the album's standout singles.

Joana Sequeira Duarte was a member of the band The Happy Mess, playing synthesizers and vocals, and later embarked on a solo career, debuting under the name Dela Marmy in 2019, developing a style of music where dreamy pop coexists with alternative rock and folk styles, while on stage the songs gain color, volume and a performative body, as she had been involved in dance for many years. She dances just as she sings, a mix of delicacy, charm and truth.
