Fractal
Samuel Lercher TrioDue out in May 2024, the Samuel Lercher Trio third album, Fractal, on Sintoma Records, with the support of Antena 2 and the Cultural Fund of the Portuguese Society of Authors, maintains the profile of excellence in the rhythm section with André Rosinha on double bass and Bruno Pedroso on drums.
The album Fractal takes on an autobiographical nature as each song presents a part of Samuel Lercher and his story, portraying subjects such as his family, coming to Portugal, mourning, travelling and the harmonious and innovative relationship he found between classical music and jazz.
The analogy made with this geometric shape commonly found in nature is also reflected in the rhythmic component of the compositions, through the overlapping of bars and melodic motifs that are, in themselves, rhythmic fractals.
Consisting of eight songs, Fractal mirrors the notorious evolution of the trio's music over the last ten years, proposing to continue with a regular schedule of concerts that emphasise cultural exchange and show that culture has no borders.
