Parallels
Too Many SunsAfter Gold, My Baby Goodbye and Take Me Home, Too Many Suns bring us the fourth instalment of their forthcoming album Reverie.
On 16 February, the band made up of Hugo Hugon (vocals/guitar), João Cardoso (drums), Vasco Rato (bass), and Simão Reis (guitar/keys) will premiere their new single Parallels. The band tells us: ‘Sometimes we have to do something to change not only who we are but also our relationship with the world around us. Parallels is thus an ode to change, and the words speak for themselves: ‘... stop making those parallels, and cut into something else...’. If the pieces aren't moved, the game stays the same forever’.
Parallels sets itself apart from previous singles, living up to the band's eclectic philosophy. It enters the rock/pop/shoegaze territory that Too Many Suns are so familiar with, where catchy pop is accompanied by surprisingly reverberating guitars, and the music follows a less linear structure.
Produced at Waahs Studios by Ulpiano Capalbo and mixed/mastered by André Isidro, Parallels is the fourth of the singles that precede the album Reverie, which will be presented in May 2024.
