Já Foram 50 anos

Fernando Girão returns to the news, after the recent re-releases on streaming platforms of several albums from his career.
"Já foi 50 anos" is the lead single from the next album “Migalhas Cósmicas” which will be released on April 25th.

In this song, Girão tells us about the 50 Fifty years that have passed (in this case, 51), since the day of the Carnation Revolution. A Revolution made of peace and without bloodshed, on the part of those who suffered so much from the total lack of freedom, with heavy imprisonment for many and around 200 political murders. Those who dominated us, supported by the force of an authoritarian and castrating regime, were completely dominated.

The Carnation Revolution brought democracy, happiness and opened the doors to a world that they did not allow us to see. Unfortunately, as time went by, the greed for power corrupted the ideals of freedom and democracy. What we thought belonged to everyone has become the privilege of only a few...
We are much better in everything, but equality and dignity have not yet been achieved. Let us continue to fight until we put an end to evil.
