AXAYARA

Fernando Girão

A Spirit World Music project that transcends Cultures and Time, where Fernando's music draws influences from so many currents that it sounds immediately familiar, even though we can't distinguish a particular place or style. The melodies have the simplicity of a traditional chant, but they also include more complex passages, in a totally jazzy current, or more immediately, with Pop inspiration. A discourse that is always refreshing and unique, where the poetry of the African deserts, the vastness of India, the Amazon jungles are present, in an intimate and unknown voice that wanders through a new, free and borderless world.

Along the way, Fernando Girão invented, or rather acquired, his own Language. And all the words heard in this recording are sung in that language, reminiscent of shamanic languages from Indian culture, but conceived by him. It is an attitude that generates inspiration, perfectly consistent with the character that his music evokes. Axayara is a contemporary and primitive prayer, to the original impulse of Creation, to the Pure Consciousness from which all living beings emerge and find their destiny. When he sings, Fernando Girão ascends to a place of power, the power of a Shaman, when he surrenders himself to the interpretation of God in what surrounds us.

This project “Axayara”, is his 18th album composed of 11 songs that gravitate between world music and something more conceptual.
