Fado Negro

Fado Negro is an album with 12 songs released in 2009 and is an excellent work that not only conveys the Portuguese identity that lives in each one of us, but also takes us to the distant landscapes where feelings and longing reside.

Fernado Girão has finally decided to release a new album of original songs, "Fado Negro" (with lyrics and music entirely written by him), an album that gives us a more mature, more painful, more intimate and deeply mystical style and that includes two fados that pay homage to his parents – “Fado Maria Girão” and “Fado Fernando de Freitas”. A journey through fado and other corners of the world.
This album is his last work dedicated to the Portuguese guitar.
