Penicos de Prata arises from the need to value Portuguese poetry, being a source of creation of a refined musical aesthetic strongly linked to Traditional Portuguese music in intersections with chamber music since 2005, brightening gatherings and concerts, bringing Portuguese poetry in a fun way to all who allow themselves to be involved in these two arts.

Since the launch of the book/cd in 2013, the project has been playing in illustrious venues in Portugal such as the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Teatro Joaquim Benite in Almada, Teatro Campo Alegre in Porto, several auditoriums such as Portalegre, Leiria, Setúbal , Castelo Branco, CCB and various festivals, literary events and summer festivals such as the Gesto Orelhudo Festival, Bons Sons Festival and the acclaimed Vodafone Paredes de Coura Festival.

Penicos de Prata is a string quartet formed by guitar, ukulele, double bass and cello. André Louro, Catarina Santana, Eduardo Jordão and João Paes perform Portuguese erotic and satirical poetry. Adília Lopes, Ana Abel-Paúl, António Botto, António Maria Eusébio (O Calafate), Carlos Queiróz, Ernesto Manuel de Melo e Castro, Fernando Pessoa, Francisco Eugénio dos Santos Tavares, João Vicente Pimentel Maldonado, José Anselmo Correia Henriques and Liberto Cruz write the poems. Liberto Cruz writes the foreword. António Jorge Gonçalves, António Viana, Bárbara Assis Pacheco, João Calixto, João Lima, José Grazina, Luis Manuel Gaspar, Paulo Araújo, Paulo Capelo Cardoso, Rui Silvares and Teresa Silva Illustrate the songs. João Lima, on Portuguese Guitar and vocals, Gonçalo Santos, on percussion, singers Catarina Molder and Rui Baeta, that arrangement by Tiago Derriça and the special participation of Victor de Sousa, spice up one song or another.
