Miguel Tapadas
Miguel Tapadas studied piano at the National Conservatory and then at the Lisbon School of Music, where he completed a degree in Music Education and Choral Conducting. A pianist, composer, arranger, producer, orchestrator, musical director and choral director, his musical work area is broad, ranging from jazz to traditional music, world music, fusion, pop, rock, orchestral music, improvised music, etc.
As a musical director, pianist, producer or orchestrator, he has worked or works with numerous artists on the national scene, such as Fausto Bordalo Dias, José Barros e Navegante, Amélia Muge, Isabel Silvestre, Eneida Marta, Uxukalhus, Matias Damásio, João Cabrita, Virgem Suta, Rui Júnior, João Gil, and many others, with whom he has performed on all the major national stages, and from whose collaboration an extensive discography was born.
He was the music producer and composer of all the original music for the Sophia Galas of the Portuguese Cinema Academy's film awards, at the CCB, between 2014 and 2017.
As a composer and/or performer of music for theatre, he works with companies such as Teatro Aberto, Teatro dos Aloés, Os Improváveis, Teatro o Bando, Artistas Unidos, Teatro da Trindade, INATEL, ACT, etc.
He was also a guest composer for the 2023 World Youth Days in Lisbon, where he premiered several choral-symphonic pieces.
In September 2024, his first album of original music for TV and cinema, “Prelude of Blood”, was released by the European label Amadea Music Productions, available on all digital platforms.
