Inner Journey

The acclaimed Portuguese saxophonist and composer Desidério Lázaro unveils his 12th solo album, "Inner Journey". This unique record is a deep and lyrical tribute to one of the most influential works of 20th-century literature: "Siddhartha" by Herman Hesse.

Far from being a mere inspiration, "Inner Journey" functions as a true soundtrack for the book, translating the protagonist's spiritual odyssey into music. Each composition follows one of the crucial moments in Siddhartha's story, capturing the essence of his discoveries, dilemmas, and transformations throughout his journey of self-knowledge and enlightenment.

Desidério Lázaro (on saxophones and bass clarinet) leads a cohesive and expressive trio. His lyricism and versatility on the horns guide the listener through the emotional landscapes of the narrative. He is joined by the talented André Rosinha on double bass and the dynamic João Sousa on drums, establishing a chamber interaction that balances melodic introspection with moments of rhythmic intensity, characteristic of the best contemporary jazz.
