Fallen

António Garcez

After a year-long hiatus from releasing records, António Garcez returns with a more open heart and mind, determined to share with his fans, friends, followers and all those who have always been with him what he has been doing during this time of reflection and seclusion, which has given rise to two more singles.

In the words of the musician, "This last year has undoubtedly been a period of deep introspection. The pain of loss, of the departure of my beloved daughter Raquel, was a pain that touched the depths of my soul and, at the same time, opened space for transformation. I could no longer ignore the need to transform this pain, this emptiness, into something that could connect me with the world around me. It was in this process that I found the inspiration to create something very personal, but also universal. Music has become my form of therapy and expression. What was once a lament is now translated into sounds and words that seek, at the same time, healing and understanding.

The song Fallen (in English) and Vives no meu Coração (in Portuguese) are the emotional translation of my experience. Both versions are a reflection on loss, but also on how loved ones remain alive within us. No matter the physical distance or the time that passes, Raquel's presence will continue to echo in my life. These songs are a sound journey through the memories I have with her, through the shared moments that, despite being tragic, have a deep and indestructible meaning."
