Lameck
Lameck is one of the new representatives of the new generation of MPB artists.
Originally from São Paulo, his contact with music came from his family. His music evokes his Afro-Brazilian origins, but also the urban rhythm of a big city. Charismatic and trendy, Lameck creates a sophisticated and very personal style. Passionate about music, he is interested in the guitar, which becomes his favorite instrument. He begins his musical studies at the Villa-Lobos Conservatory in São Paulo and completes his studies in Musicology in Paris, his adopted hometown since 1999.
At a very young age, Lameck is captivated by the poetry of Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. He is also inspired by the complete works of João Bosco (whom he pays homage to in his first album). Samba is an eternal encounter and learning experience with his African ancestry and Angolan contemporaneity.
His songs have such a personal style: a mix of modernity and innovation, with a touch of funk. His arrangements convey a soulful spirit as well as jazz influences.
Lameck has revealed himself to be a young composer-performer with eclectic potential and a confirmed and confirmed versatility. Accompanied by excellent musicians, he has performed on several Parisian and international stages, and has managed to win over a large audience in venues such as Scène Bastille, Cabaret Sauvage, Favela Chic (Paris and London) and Maroquinerie (Paris).
