Garcia
Garcia is the alter-ego of João Garcia Barreto, an independent artist who daily works as manager, a department director in a real estate company, music curator and publisher. Music is always a necessity and it continues to generate in him an enormous sense of urgency to share it. And now, after five years, “Fogo dos Dias” follows “Canção”, released in 2021 by Plateia d’Ilusões with the support of Antena 1. His third album, “Fogo dos Dias”, is more poetic with some melancholic moments. It was produced by João Gil, better known as Vitorino Voador, who is part of the projects SAL, You Can’t Win Charlie Brown, Mafalda Veiga, Esteves and OIOAI. It also featured João Pinheiro (SAL, Cassete Pirata, OIOAI, etc.), Vicente Santos (Conjunto!evite, SAL, Lena d’Água, etc.) and duets with Lília Esteves from the project “Lobo Mau”.
His previous album, “Canção,” includes the two main singles “O Famigerado Quebra Corações” and “Cigarra no Outono” and was recorded at Estúdios Plateia D’Ilusões and produced by Vasco Teodoro and Marco Reis.
Over the years, he has played with one of the best Portuguese guitarists, Phil Mendrix, and has also shared the stage with Pedro Puppe, Vitorino Voador, Simão Palmeirim | Não Simão, Rogério Charraz, Yara Gutkin, Pedro Branco, and Jorge Benvinda / Virgem Suta. Some of his songs have been played on national radio and television channels and in commercial venues. They have also been featured on Spotify playlists @New Music Friday Portugal, Pop PT, and Rádio de Garcia.
