Alessio Vellotti Group

The Alessio Vellotti Group is a vibrant and innovative musical group that explores a rich mix of styles, including jazz, funk, latin-jazz, blues, and ethnic and folk influences, with a strong connection to Mediterranean music. Founded by pianist and composer Alessio Vellotti, the group is composed of talented musicians: Tiago Cordeiro on saxophone, Augusto Macedo on double bass and Luís Gaspar on drums. The dynamic interplay between musicians and improvisation are distinctive features of the group, creating a unique sound environment that captivates audiences. In 2017, the Alessio Vellotti Group released its first album, entitled "Viagem de Regresso", which received praise for its originality and the fusion of different musical styles. The group has continued to evolve and, in March 2022, released the single "Sparkling Eyes", which demonstrates its capacity for innovation and the search for new sounds.Over the years, the Alessio Vellotti Group has performed at a variety of iconic venues, expanding its live presence. Some of the venues where they have performed include "Catacumbas Jazz Bar", "Chapitô", "Fábrica do Braço de Prata", "CC Malaposta", "Be Jazz", “Cascais Jazz Club”, “Cine Incrivel – Alma Danada” (as part of the “Jazz-me” series) and many others. In addition, the group has had the opportunity to perform at prestigious international festivals, such as the "J-AZZ" Jazz Festival at the Nest Theatre in Naples and the "I Concerti della Bottega" in Benevento, Italy. In September 2017, the group gave a notable performance at the José Malhoa Museum during the European Heritage Days. In May 2019, they performed at “Maio Música’19”, promoted by “Canto Firme”, in Tomar.
